Dad's Time Machine

by: Preston Dennett

While the extraterrestrial hypothesis is the most popular to explain UFOs, it's certainly not the only one. Other theories include interdimensional beings or even time travelers, an explanation that seems to fit this next case.

On October 8, 1984, Jake (pseudonym) and his son, Sheldon, (twelve-years-old) were driving along [Arizona's] Highway 89 to their home in Spring Valley after attending a funeral. Around 11:00 p.m., about five miles outside Yarnell, they pulled over to take a break from driving.

They began talking about UFOs. Says Jake: “I mentioned to my son that I think most UFO sightings are military-related or nonmilitary-related vehicles, possibly from the future like a time machine. I told my son that some day time travel could be possible.”

Sheldon asked, “Can you prove time travel?”

Humoring his son, Jake replied, “Maybe, do you want to try it?” It was now 11:26 and the father and son marked the date and time and waited to see if anything would show up.

“Oh, my God!” Sheldon yelled, “What is that?”

Jake turned his head and was shocked to see a small flying object swoop down from the sky right toward them. It stopped about 50 feet high and 100 feet away. Says Jake: “We could see two people in the craft. They were looking at us. Sheldon looked at me, jumped into the car, and shut the door. I stood still and took it all in. After about five seconds, I waved and they waved back. I looked back at my son and he smiled. When I turned back to look at the craft, it was backing up. I waved again and they waved, too. The craft turned, picked up speed and altitude, and within a matter of seconds, was out of sight.”

In complete shock, Jake returned to the car and looked in amazement at his son.

“That was you, Dad,” said Sheldon. “That was you from the future. You did it! You proved time travel to me!”

The two of them drove home in a daze. According to Jake, his son was still shaken when they arrived home and told the rest of the family what they had seen. It was an event that neither of them will forget. Says Jake: “We have a plague on the wall with the date, time, and place.”

The experience itself caused Jake to think deeply about time travel. It affected them to such a degree that they are considering making a movie about it.
