The Paraphysical Stranger

by: Albert S. Rosales

Location: Amontada, Ceara, Brazil
Date: March 22, 2016
Time: 2:34 a.m.

After a long week of work in the city of Fortaleza, industrial worker, Gustavo Silva, 38, decided to spend the weekend in the town of Tuncuns, district of Amontada. He left Fortaleza at around 6:35 a.m. as he had about 225km to drive in order to get to his destination. It was cold and cloudy, and the road was full of potholes. Feeling suddenly hungry he stopped to have a meal. After getting some rest he continued on his journey. It was now raining heavily. He soon arrived at the town of Amontada and went to stay at his aunt and cousins’ home. It was already 12:35 a.m. For some unknown reason, he felt anxious and nervous, and stayed up reading the Bible until about 1:30 a.m. The rain had now stopped, and it became extremely hot and humid. Soon he felt an intense headache and took an analgesic which caused him to become very sleepy and numb. He went to lie down on a hammock and there fell asleep. He woke up around 2:34 a.m. and everything was now very dark. He sat on the steps of the front door and began to stargaze, as the sky was already clear. As he stared at the sky he suddenly felt chills, and looked down and saw a man dressed all in white walking through a jungle thicket across from him. The man was approximately 2m in height, with very pale skin, and was wearing a sort of white smock similar to those wore by friars or monks. He also wore sandals. The stranger was bald, with thick sideburns, and had a look of “tranquility” about him. As Gustavo watched he was astounded to see the strange man walk through a link fence as if it weren’t there. He then walked down a path and disappeared from sight. According to Gustavo, he felt no fear only curiosity. At that moment, he wanted to yell for his cousins who were sleeping nearby, but he had no voice. He then ran to wake them up but it was fruitless, they seemed to have been in a deep sleep. He then went back and saw the strange man again, this time standing and staring at him. Gustavo felt like the man wanted to tell him something. His clothing seemed to be glowing. The man then walked towards the nearby road and when Gustavo went to follow him, he had mysteriously vanished. He was finally able to wake his cousins and told them what happened. However, they did not believe him. The next day he visited the local church and asked if the priest had been out walking the night before but was told that the priest had been away for at least a month.
